Die Marke wurde 1950 von Jean Panzani in Parthenay gegründet.
In den 1950er Jahren verkaufte er Teigwaren in Zellophan, während andere Firmen Karton verwendeten.
Von 1960 bis 1964 fusionierte sie mit La Lune und Régia Scaramelli.
In den 1960er Jahren wurde sie zum Marktführer unter den Teigwaren-Großhändlern in Frankreich.
1964 analysierte Roland Barthes einen Werbespot von Panzani in seinem Essay „Die Rhetorik des Bildes“ und schlug vor, dass Panzani versuchte, als italienisch wahrgenommen zu werden.
